I’m back with 10 more art styles for you to try in Midjourney or any AI art platform. You simply add them to your prompt, separated by a comma, to get results like these.
Some of the styles today are a little dark, but not our first style.

Midjourney Prompt Styles
How to apply these:
- Add the style phrase to your subject prompt, separated by a comma.
- Example format: Subject, in the style of [style name]
- Generate a few variations to see how the look adapts to your subject.

In the Style of Dragon Ball Z Screencap
Trying to take certain characters or scenes and render them in a Dragon Ball Z style that matches the cartoon. Goku didn’t turn out like a screencap, but most of the other images, such as Darth Vader or the Terminator, were very Dragon Ball Z in their design and drawing style.
You can see it with the eyes and face shape on Batman, and definitely when we move on to the Incredible Hulk, with a little bit of that glowing effect. It really makes an impact on those images.

Art Deco Style
This adds a really nice, classy look to all your images and relies on that old Art Deco style, especially in the background and the way things are framed up.
Everything is very central, everything looks very classical, and when you take modern characters like Deadpool or Darth Maul you get some really cool images. I really like how central and symmetrical these are in the way they frame people.

This image looks a lot like the Optimus Prime image in its framing, but you get a very classical feel. The Terminator kind of looks like President Terminator, which I thought was really cool.
I had to throw the Hulk at this one and got a really cool image with lots of golds and blues.
In the Style of an Otto Dix War Drawing
Otto Dix was an artist in World War I who drew what he saw, and you’ll get some more gruesome images. I’ve got two of Batman here, and the details and the things it adds can bring a nice bit of horror to some images.
Quite often there are open wounds, but that black and white dark style and even the look of horror on some faces is really well represented.

Superman looks a little bit dark in nature without having to show too much, Barbie takes on more of a classical look, and Goku is just a little bit different. A really cool theme added to those, as well as that drawing look.
In the Style of Bernie Wrightson
Another cool artist with a very dark style, as you can see in the facial expression here. With Darth Maul you get a dark, gloomy result. Darth Vader has a melted sort of thing going on with his arms and his cape.
Move on to Batman and you get that high contrast, high lit but really deep shadow appearance, and the details it adds to images like Mario are very cool.

It also created an awesome version of Optimus Prime that isn’t that dark but still has high contrast. The Terminator with a skull shoulder pad is a very cool effect overall.
As a Kaiju
It’s a Japanese term for giant monster, so a lot of the time it turns people into giant monsters with a Godzilla-like style. Sometimes it doesn’t, but you do get a high percentage of these looks. I love the way it turned the Terminator into more of a Godzilla sort of shape, really zooming in on that face.

Optimus Prime doesn’t really look like Optimus Prime, but the transformation is strong, which is a great way to get unique characters or unique scenes.
Superman as a giant super monster sells the scale really well. The Hulk feels gigantic, the samurai’s mountain reads like a giant monster, and Batman becomes a bat-style monster flying through Gotham.
In the Style of 2000s Chromecore
This is an old-fashioned style. I love the way it changes characters, like Goku, who looks completely different. You get a lot of purple and pink tones, with a bit of blue. It really changes the look of the images and leans heavily on those colors in most instances.

Optimus Prime is very chrome and shiny. Batman has a chrome helmet with a pink reflection. Pikachu is dressed up in that old-fashioned style, and even Deadpool looks a little more pink than red.
IFBB Pro
This is like a bodybuilding pro card when someone turns professional, so it turns a lot of your characters into massive bodybuilders. This can be a lot of fun. Hulk’s even a little bit bigger than usual, with a different haircut.
Darth Vader’s suit is a little more muscled out than usual, and the Terminator becomes a big cyborg muscle machine about to step out on stage. I love the one of Mario with a beard, looking a little more manly than usual, and even Batman shows veins through the suit.

Not all of them are huge. Darth Maul is more of a classic physique, and Barbie has more of a fitness influencer look. Some images were a little questionable with this one.
Foggy Dreamstate
This adds a really nice fog to images, and the way it lights and sets up the scene feels like it’s actually from a dream. It handles lighting and blur well, and the way everything is framed has a glow that gives it an empty, ethereal feel.
It’s a cool way to get a different look on your images. Darth Maul is hard to recognize, and Optimus looks a little bit evil, almost like a Nemesis Prime type thing.

I love the glow around the car headlights. The Pikachu one was probably one of my least favorites, but the phrase still had an impact.
Old Terrifying Movie Poster
This adds a real horror and movie poster feel. Barbie looks like she’s running away from someone in the background. Often you get a cool giant figure at the top with little figures in the front, like Deadpool.
Darth Maul looks like he’s turning into a werewolf or something a bit strange. A futuristic car looks like it’s coming to run you over in the streets. The colors are muted and spooky.

Hulk again gets that big figure in the background, same with Goku, and those mad eyes add a level of insanity. It even looks like the Statue of Liberty is about to come to life and trash New York, while a samurai in front of Mount Fuji just has a spooky feel.
Inspired by Paw Patrol
Sometimes you get dogs with characters, but I wanted to share the ones where it transforms the characters into dogs, which happens a lot. There’s a little dog on Darth Vader’s cape. The Terminator is small with a render style similar to the show.
The Hulk becomes a muscled up little dog, which looks a bit odd. Optimus Prime is rendered in that cartoon style you would see on something like Paw Patrol. The cars are reminiscent of the vehicles from the show. Mickey Mouse is dressed like someone from Paw Patrol. The impact when it turns people into dogs is strong, and I love the way it creatively works with the character.
The samurai reads a bit more like a fox, but it does a great job of creating cute puppy characters out of some favorite pop culture characters. Have a bit of fun with that one if you want to explore it, especially if you’ve got kids you want to show these to.

Final Thoughts
Add one of these style phrases to your subject and let Midjourney reinterpret it through a bold visual lens. Some styles skew dark and gritty, others are glossy, symmetrical, dreamy, or flat-out playful. Test a few prompts per style, pay attention to recurring traits like color palettes, framing, and scale, and lean into the ones that best match the mood you want.
