I’m back with 10 more art styles that you can try in your AI art platforms or Midjourney to get some cool images. These were generated in Midjourney, but you can try them on any platform.
Midjourney Art Style Prompts: 10 Styles to Try
Jack Kirby comic book style
- Tends to create trippier looking images. The elements it adds and the fun it has with the subject can be really cool.
- You’ll see things like a real trippy color scheme in the eyes. Not all the images turn out like this, but these were some of the best ones I really wanted to share.
- Results vary. Batman can look a little more standard to show you that you don’t always get the crazy images, but then Darth Maul might look completely different. Superman tends to not look too good in a lot of these images.
- Objects and scenes can come out very cool too, like the Statue of Liberty with an almost futuristic sort of look to it.
- On cars, it can look more like a 3D render, but it still affects the image layout and color.

Bardan style describing the works of JG Ballard
- There seems to be a very old-fashioned style to these images, especially with portraits like a woman’s face.
- It adds interesting elements. You might get an unexpected Batman image in a frame, or another where he’s wearing a suit.
- It tends to add a really nice classical feel to your images. It’s a bit hard to pick exactly what’s going to happen, but it is a lot of fun.
- With characters like Pikachu it’s a little less classical, but still a pretty nice image.

Shadowness profile style
- Shadowness was a website I used to visit a while ago. I tried this to see what result I would get and surprisingly got some pretty cool results.
- What you get are nice side profile images. They’re usually very heavily shadowed, lots of black, maybe a little bit of key light, and a dark sense to them.
- I didn’t expect to get quite the results I did, but I really appreciate the results I get. There is actually some consistency to it.
- There’s a little bit of an evil nature to some of these images, a little dark and gloomy. I’d recommend having a play with it if you like this dark style of profile image.

Tamagotchi 2D vector graphic
- Another experiment with those old Tamagotchi toys. It often produces images either like this or condensed down into little cute Tamagotchi-shaped characters.
- Some of them actually look a lot like Funko Pops.
- The 2D vector graphic element tends to clean these images up, giving nice little boxy, cartoony characters. In most instances you get cute little characters.
- Playing with the word hotchi seems to produce some pretty fun proportions for characters and images in general. Sometimes it goes completely different with characters like Goku.

CAD drawing
- This one has a mix to it. Sometimes you get CAD-like 3D renders, other times you just get drawings. Sometimes grid lines are added, sometimes not much at all.
- Overall it tends to go between the CAD-like 3D renders and the drawing. Occasionally you get color, but mostly it’s black and white.
- It’s a style that has a few styles within it. I really like the way it handled Superman in one of these.
- You can get a colored style CAD render of the Hulk. Expect to see a lot of grids and a very technical drawing style added to it. It did a nice job on a futuristic car too, with the drawing above.

Branding stationery mockup
- This tends to create a mockup of stationery like business cards and letterheads. Whatever you apply to it, it does a pretty good job of creating a nice, aesthetically pleasing photograph of stationery.
- While this might not be super useful for a graphic designer, you can still use it as a means to get started. It could be for inspiration, and then you could literally apply your actual design over the top.
- It’s a very consistent style and can be fun to see how it places elements, like a car next to the items.

Tim Burton style movie
- Really adds that Tim Burton style, especially The Nightmare Before Christmas. It tends to rely on that artist’s style for these images.
- Some results are more cinematic at first, but with characters like Superman you start to see the cartoony shaped elements come in.
- Barbie has that Gothic feel. With Goku, the proportions like the eyes and the long neck really show through.
- It does a great job of throwing a few of these different styles from his movies at your images. I found this one to be really transformative and it did a great job with pretty much all the images I threw at it. The crazy looking Darth Maul was very cool.

16-bit RPG video game map
- Creates very consistent 16-bit graphics in that old-fashioned map style you used to see in a lot of video games from Super Nintendo or possibly early PlayStation.
- The 2D map element flattens things out and creates very interesting images. I highly recommend having a play with this to see what you can create.
- You can try characters like I have here, but you can also just describe scenery.
- Darth Maul worked nicely with a little monolith of his head in the map. The samurai came out with really interesting graphics, changing it from just a pixel art style to something a bit more uniform and organized.

Inspired by The Powerpuff Girls
- We don’t necessarily get the Powerpuff Girls style nailed, but the proportions are there.
- The images are very cartoony and often quite girly. Like the Tamagotchi style, it resizes and reshapes things and gets very similar but still not quite the same.
- It does a great job of creating some cartoony, cute little characters. Goku was a little bit different than I expected, but still pretty cool.
- A fun one to play with if you want to create something different with certain characters or people.

Redshift render
- A type of 3D render that gives really crisp, nice images. There’s usually a nice glow added to them and it creates really clean 3D renders.
- If you’re looking for super clean images, this can be a great style to add in there to clean up and remove the noise. These images just look crisp with no grain, like a very high level 3D render.
- It adds a lot of detail too. With a woman’s face you can see pores and sweat, and I love the effect it added to Goku. Overall it’s just a very aesthetic image.
- You get that nice glow on elements like Darth Maul’s jacket, plus very cinematic style framing. The lighting and the shadow on a house really added a different element to what I normally get with that prompt. Batman looked a little bit different again, which was pretty cool.

Bonus: Red pipe render
- I accidentally typed in red pipe render and it did a similar job but added something a little bit different to some elements.
- Batman had a red cape and a sword for some reason. Deadpool looked a little bit different again.
- The Terminator looked pretty much the same but with a bit of a red light. There tends to be a red element, and there’s something transformative I just can’t quite pick.
- A fun one to get a slightly unique and unexpected result. I love the one where Darth Vader looks like he’s holding a gun. The only one that didn’t look red and evil was a cute little Pikachu.
